Damn These Doors

No matter how far apart we are
We just never seem to care at all
All that matters is our love will never fall
But if everything deserves a second chance
How long does the first one have to last
And why does time have to slip away so fast?

If only we could take back the days
I want to take your love with me always
Now just hold on, stay strong
This hope can’t be wrong

((Chorus))
   Damn these doors
That are keeping me away from you today
And now I’ve got no choice but to go along my way
   Far away from you
   Damn these doors
That are keeping you right out of my line of sight
Guess I won’t be seeing you again until the night
   Say good night to you

I’m standing right underneath the rain
Waiting for you to turn around
And once again let me feel I’ve flown off the ground
It’s a desperate hope, but I’m holding on
‘Cause baby, I’ve put all my faith in you
Now let me know that everything you feel is true

Baby, let me take back the days
I want to take your love with me always
Please just hold on, stay strong
This hope can’t be wrong

((Repeat Chorus))

((Bridge))
And even with all the steps we’re taking
   We keep finding ourselves separating
We know we don’t want to fall apart
But everything’s been against us from the start
I don’t want to drift away anymore
But I don’t know why I just can’t open this door

((Repeat Chorus))

Damn these doors
Damn these doors

If my memory serves me right, I believe this is the first alternative rock song I’ve ever written. I wrote this nearly two years ago, just before the end of the school year. I remember coming out of the school’s comfort room and staring at the closed doors of the auditorium just to the left, behind which I knew was someone dear to me. He was leaving soon (I think, if you’ve stuck with me long enough, you’ll know whom I’m referring to).

Dang, just a little more and my blog will completely be a songwriting blog. HAHA. Oh well. I hope you guys liked this one.
