Stranger, lover
I can’t quite put a finger
On what you are to me
Enemy, destiny
I can’t seem to figure out
Whether you are
Danger or savior
Is it my imagination
Showing me what I want to see?
Or is it the real situation
Exactly how things ought to be?
It’s hard to tell you apart
From what’s real, or what’s not
And I can’t trust my heart
Fear is all that I’ve got
Stranger, lover
I can’t help but wonder
If the truth is what I see
Enemy, destiny
I’ll always be uncertain
Of whether you are
Danger or savior
I’m shaking all over
As I fight with truth and lies
I keep sinking lower
Though I’m reaching for the skies
I’m torn and undecided
No, I don’t understand
I don’t even know where I’m headed
Or where I’m going to land
((Instrumental))
Stranger, lover
I guess we’ll never know
Enemy, destiny
Where should we go?
Danger, savior
It’s just part of the show
Oh, oh
Stranger, lover
Things will never be the same
Enemy, destiny
Who is to blame?
Danger, savior
It’s just part of the game
Oh, oh
Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh
(Real or not real?)

This is a sort of pop-rock song I wrote for The Hunger Games, and it focuses particularly on the dynamic of Katniss and Peeta’s relationship. This duet starts with the female singer (or Katniss, whatever floats your boat), transitions to the male singer (or Peeta), and then it alternates between the two. The last two verses are where the singers’ voices merge. The last line is whispered by the male singer.
If I could find someone who could help me with the music, that would be great. It would be fun to put up a video of this. ^_^ It’s just a little over a month to go before our big, big, big day, Tributes! Happy Hunger Games!
